A tram car lest of all riding in one for
over nine months & I must say we looked it
as each man had a mug-plate. Knife.
fork & spoon & we were just as
pleased as a lot of children, but to get on
with the trip. We at last were all safe on
board a Fair sized steamer called the
Buccaneer, where a fairly good breakfast
was waiting for us & after disposing of
this, we were all at liberty to go up on
deck to see the sights on the banks of
the River as we were now sailing up at a
good rate. It is & insult to a river to call
the Irrawadi a River as it is more like a
fair sized sea, It is hard to believe when
you are sailing on this River, that you
really are on a River it is of such a
tremendous size. We journeyed up for
about 3 hours when we pulled into the logs
& we were taken on shore to see two of the
most wonderful sights in Burmah, the First
one we saw was a really marvellous bell which
is considered the second largest bell in the world.
