  weather hear at present but it is

  not so cold only at nights  Well

  my Love we shall have no sleep

  for the nesct 3 nights now as

  we have to be on the watch all

  the time keeping the Germans

  back + there is no dug out where

  we are going into this time so

  I soppose we shall be working

  most of the time in the day

  making them dug out means

  a place dug out in the earth +

  sand bags put all over the lot

  + all around it so as to keep

  the shells out Well my Dear I hope

  you + the boys are well + I hope

  maggie will make a bit on her

  knitting machine poor Lass it is
