so on, in the second case if a Battery consists of six

guns then the distribution will be as follows:

No 2 and 4 give 10 minutes outwards No 1 and 5, 20 

minutes outwards and No 6 30 minutes.


But if the battery consists of 4 guns then the distribution

will be as follows

     No 2 and 3, 10 minutes outwards

     No 1 and 4, 20 minutes outwards


The number of minutes ordered is reckoned roughly by

the displacement table given under Laying or by the Gunners

rule

     Fire is usually distributed from the first round, each

gun taking the portion opposite it, but the fire may be

concentrated on one point for ranging if desired. The

order to distribute is used in the concealed position

where the layers cannot see the target
