  January 30.   Tuesday

  
  

  1917.

  Tues. Jan30. arrived at the Le Havre, 7am. very cold.

  plenty of snow about, plenty of ice on Deck; landed

  and marched to Rest Camp. tent alloted to us.

  I went to town, with other officers. by tram. Had
  

  a wander around & some breakfast. Had lunch

  at "Tortonis" went to "Le Salon de Billiards"

  with Coulman, Lackton, met Cuttle & others.

  dined at "Cafe Moderne'. dinner £100 for 7 of us.

  All slept @ "Hotel de Jardin a Hiver" very funny.

  Noted lots of Bosch prisoners en route for docks.

  
  

  January 31st. Wednesday.

  Got up 9am Breakfast at small pastry cook's

  in "Boulevard de Strasbourg" & returned to

  camp. Went to Officers Club in afternoon

  had tea & dined there. Went to Tortonis for

  awhile and went to "Grand. Theatre de Havre

  went afterwards to Hotel Pretty & slept 8 hours

  in a luxurious room.

  
  

  February 1st. Thursday.

  Got up 8am. returned to camp, arriving 10am

  censored letters before lunch. wandered around

  town with Lackton Had nice time

  Slept at "Hotel de Strasbourg".
