are only allowed to send one letter a

day. I am going on quite well, but

shall of course be in bed for at

least another week yet. Thanks

for Mrs Hague's letter - She is a

fun one! We are wakened at 4:30

am by the night Sister, with an eerie

old oil lamp (à la Florence Nightingale);

have a wash, cup of coffee, bed made +

gargle; breakfast at 7-7:30; cup

of coffee at 10:30; lunch at 12;

hot milk at 2:30; tea 4:30;

supper 7:30; The doctor here is one

of the nicest fellows I have come

across. This is out of Ma's letter

"Muriel is a comfort to me -----

(I really daren't tell you the rest for

fear of making you blush!) I'm

not surprised, bless your heart, because

I knew, see, my own? But you

must not tell her I've told you, please!
