shave with his Gillette Razor while he 

was away yesterday. Alec Inglis suggests  

that we all grow mustaches + beards. 

Bunch got his finger end broken last

night He was untying a horse's halter

+ it threw it's head up + trapped his 

finger in the knott. I suppose you know

that "Squib" Shannon has joined again. 

I have just received a message from 

Tunstall Coastguard Station saying that all 

aeroplanes are to be considered friendly +

I have to pass this on to Hornsea C.G.S.

We had a terrible night last night. 

Our sentry captured a suspicious looking

tramp + handed him over to me while he 

went for Scottie. I had my rifle cocked

+ kept him covered. We untied his bundle 

+ searched him but he was alright so 

we let him go. We then got a message

to say that 2 men had been seen on 

motor bikes signalling out to sea with the 

Morse code. They also reported that they 

had seen somebody signalling from a 

house window. Then came the final straw
