My Dear Nan I got your letter +

Parcle on Thursday Jan 20th the day

before my Birthday I soppose you must

have forgoten it was my Birthday but

never mind as long as I can see many

more we was just getting ready for

the trenches again we are going in for

4 days now + I hope I shall come out

safe again it is a miserable place

where we are going into this time

plenty of water + rats + then we come

out again for a week + then in

again + so on till all the Division

as been in + then we shall have

a Divisional rest that means 6 weeks

rest + then we might get a pass
