June 27th Arrived at Neuve Berguine 3oc 15 miles walk. Boots
worn through. Slept till 9 oc Am Moved off again 8PM
Merris arrived 10 00Pm
28th Merris people
to see us back again,
Entertainment likely but will get "sold a Pup" as we expec
to move off again tonight. Raining hard. Left merris 2, oc
having poor boots, rode up in a motor Bus. Arrived 3 oc
squadron arrived 7 oc Neuve Englise.
29th
run over my foot, had to come back from trenc
in waggon Cpl James sniped.
30th Nothing alarming here on. Sitting down, nothing to read.
July 1st Bombarding Ypres, Neuve Eglise gets in every day
out of billetts jude outside.
2nd No1 + No2 Guns gone out No3 + 4
with
E. Hor
3rd very hot. foot getting on famous. shells coming over-
4th Still very hot + sultry. Foot practcally well. hope to go
up to the boys in the morning.
5th In reserve at Pation Farm Awful stench of Dead Bodie
6th Still in reserve "Stand to" ordered, Heavy attack on Right
7th Back in huts at Neuve Eglise, Enemy bombarding Church
8th Resting "Stand to" ordered Noon.
9th Aeroplace brought down. no damage done
Very daring Frenchman. Pilot flying over enemys trench for 2 hours
18th Move up into trenches. Front line splendid

said to be mined.
