  he dont go through the same as I

  do as he is cook to the head quarters

  I should not like to tell you

  all in a letter as I know that you

  would never forget it but I lives

  in hopes to see you again + then

  I can tell you all Well my Dear

  we are giveing the Germans something

  to go on with now you can see

  that by the papers you know I

  cant tell you in a letter where 

  I am but I am on the Western

  Front we are not haveing much

  nice weather out hear at present 

  I have had to stop out many

  a night + sit down with my sheet

   
  

  around me + raining torrents

  I have just come into the trenches

  again now I feel completely done

  up I cant see comeing home yet

  now as we are driveing the Germans 

  back + killing plenty Well my 

  Dear I should only like to be 

  home with you if for a little time

  it would be a change for me

  as I have been alot about France

  I have got a German pipe + purse

  + watch + notes I am sending

  the notes home they are not of much

  value but you must look after them

  as I took them away from

  a German myself.  Dead Nan you

  must tell the boys that Dady will

  send them another card when
