  My Dear Nan I got your letter tonight
  

  Friday 3rd I dont understand you
  

  not haveing my letter before it must
  

  take longer for my letters to come to
  

  you than yours do to me but I hope
  

  you got the last one as I put 2/-
  

  in for you & I am putting anoth A triangular piece has been torn out on the right side
  

  one in now  I dont get so m
  

  out hear but you want it m
  

  than I do sometimes I want myse The torn portion ends here
  

  I cant get it but never mind as
  

  long as I am all right we are out
  

  for 8 days now & then we go into the
  

  Trenches again for 16 days & it is
  

  a bad place where we are going
  

  into nesct time as the Germans have
  

  blowed it all down but if it is
