Leurs filles portent de jolies robes, bracelets et colliers de dentelle blanche empaillée, un nœud dans les cheveux, des chaussures très polies. Sa femme assise porte un chemisier blanc empesé et une longue jupe noire.
 
Ses deux filles s'appellent probablement Simone et Claire car ces noms sont gravés sur la boîte faite main de son temps à Münster, en Allemagne, dans le camp du prisonnier de guerre.
