In the field | During the last week of Aug. and the first few days of Sept. an attempt was made to drain the Railway cutting at
"HILL 60," but this work was suspended under orders from H.Q., after a considerable improvement had been affected.
Work on the COMINES Line DIVERSION and the RAVINE WOOD Howitzer Spurs was continued day and night.
12.9.17 | Work on the "DOLL'S HOUSE" Spurs, 1/2 mile S.E. of YPRES, was begun, both spurs being ready for howitzers the following
evening
14.9.17 | No. 1 Spur RAVINE WOOD ready for Howitzer. No. 4 having been previously finished on the 9th night
20.9.17 | No. 3 Spur RAVINE WOOD was ordered at 11 P.M. the spur was ready on the evening of the 22nd
24.9.17 | VLAMERTINGHE Detraining Siding was begun
28.9.17 | ZILLEBEKE LAKE Siding and tours was begun
30.9.17 | An additional Siding was begun } this work was completed 3.10.17
at WESTONHOEK
During the month a number of casualties to men of the company and attached labour occurred as follows.
262nd Coy. R.E. Killed - 2 Wounded - 6
Attached labour Killed - 4 Wounded -30
During the month the following received Immediate Awards as follows: -
