The shades of night, were falling fast
As by the C.R.O. their passed
A Waac who wore a strange device
A Motto, twas this good advice
"Carry On"
Her brow was sad, her brassard new
Looked very tame, all white + blue.
Her head it ached, her heart was wrung,
But still she either said or sung
"Carry On"
She left the street , the office sought
There munched the grapes her pay had bought
She heard a voice + turned with dread
Miss Bartelles popped in and said
"Carry On"
She seized her pen, upset the ink
She never even stopped to think
But turned with scornful air + said
"I suppose you'd say if you
"Carry On"saw me dead"Carry On"
She got C.B. she didn't care
She'd joined the Waacs to do + dare
As she left the camp we heard her say
