For God, For King & For Country
Y M C A
H.M. Forces on Active Serivce
Dear Pat,
I arrived here safely and up to time
I reached Dover at 10:30 and was in barracks
by 11-30. I had a very nice passage and was
not sea sick but at the end of my journey
I was very tierd. When we got in it was
to late to get our beds out of the stores and we
had to be in our clothes on the floor. It was
anything but pleasant and made us more home
sick than what we were. Today we have
been put on draft for France and we expect
to go next week. There are 500 of us going
and there are another 500 to follow us in
a week or so. They must expect to be
busy this winter. I did not expect to
be put on this week. but sure I would
