shall have done our full
duty, the same minds who
are now suggesting war will
then suggest peace, and the
sentiment of the common
people will be for peace, not war.
War arises out of two of
man's strongest instincts, acquis-
itiveness, or the desire of possession,
and combativeness or pugnacity.
While our instincts are our
native reflexes, our natural
reactions, they are the reactions
of the animal nature. The
