easy day. heavy rain during
dinner hour. finished work 3-30
Saturday Oct 6 Reported sick
got light duty for the day.
Sunday Oct 7 At Battery 90
Fritz shelling, took cover, raining
Friday Oct 19 Fritz flew over
camp & dropped a bomb in
camp. Killed 5 & 10 injured
I later found a small hole
in our tent just above my
haversack, if I had not laid
flat on the ground perhaps
it would have been good bye
for me.
Sunday Oct 28 Working at
188 Battery. Spoil bank
Fritz flew over 10 machines
& dropped bombs. Killed Roberts.
1 missing & 6 injured. I laid
still until he cleared off.
