  + Quite a time I have only one excuse

  + that is that I have not been at all well since writing

  you last + although I am sat on the couch at the 

  present moment with my feet on the Fender + Quite

  comfortable I am supposed to be under doctors orders +

  in Bed. However I certainly feel to well to stay

  in Bed + if the doctor does not give me the

  sack soon I shall certainly give him something

  less than a weeks notice -

  I have already been away from the Works since last

  Thursday noon + as things seem now taking a turn

  towards peace conditions I feel that I shall be much

  better + certainly more agreeable employed at the office

  than toasting my feet on the fender + having

  afternoon Tea with your Mother

  I fully expect that before this reaches you you 66

  will have received some intimation from The 

  Advisory Committee re your release as a pivotal

  man I have every reason to hope that this application

  will have proved successful but owing to the fact that

  I have been at home since the 9th + that the committee

  met on the 10th I have not been able to get
