SWINEFLEET BROTHE
ONE KILLED, ANOTHER WOUNDED
Mrs. Duesbery, of Swinefleet Fields,. late
of Gooole, recently received the sad news of
the death in action on Sept. 15, 1916, of her
son, Corp. John Duesbery, Sherwood Fores-
ters (Notts and Derby Regiment)
Corp Duesbery was, prior to enlisting in
November, 1914, very well known in Goole,
and at the beginning of the war was with
the L. & Y. steamer Douglas at Hamburg,
when that vessl had great difficulty in
getting away from Germany. Upon arrival
in Goole the Donglas was laid up and Dues-
bery took up employment at Nottingham
gasworks, where he remained until he
joined the Army. After training for five
months he crossed to France, and within a
week of his landing there was participating
in the Battle of Neuve Chapelle. He was
one of the 400 survivors of that battle out
of regiment of 115.
Ernest Duesherry, his brother Royal
Marine of Hoold's Battslion, Roya Naval
Division, is reported
for the third
time. He joined the Army at the commence-
ment of the war, anf has seen much active
service with the troops abroad.
DUESBERRY - In loving memory of Cpl. J. Dues
"Far away from his home and loved ones,
Laid to rest in a far-off land;
Neve more shall i clasp his dear hard;
Tis only those who have lost can tell
The pain of parting without a farewell "
From his loving Mother and Sisters and Brothers (somewhere to France)
