February 2nd Friday
Had breakfast & returned to camp. Orderly Officer
staying in to lunch, tea & Dinner. Censored
all letters. Cap't. H.g. & Coulman phoned me
met them at "Hotel au Bras D'or. H.G. & C
slept there. no more room so I went again
to "Hotel Jardin De Hiver".
February 3rd. Saturday.
Returned to camp, shaved and had breakfast
& lunch there. Went to Ordnance. Sent for from
there 3:30 pm. Had orders to entrain @ 6/30pm
at Point 3. Had change of Ration & Baggage
party. Drew rations for 2 days at Point 4
Then went to Point 3 & help to get on guns.
Men in cattle truck (30 men in a truck) very
amusing their efforts to keep warm by fires etc.
6 officers in an old 2nd class carriage. all
windows broken.
February 4. Sunday
All 6 of us slept very badly. mixed up like
sardines but quite cheery. Spent whole day
in train with exception of few minutes at
estaminas at stopping places where. we got
omlettes & coffee. Otherwise bully beef and
biscuits were the staple diet.
