Monday evening.
My dear Muriel,
Just a line - which I must get off
tonight - to say that my pass has been signed by
Capt. Watson + has gone before the C.O., so that it is pretty
certain, barring accidents, I shall get it. Thank
goodness! Now about the ring. I shall want
your size. Will you send me, as soon as possible,
one of the silver rings you tried on & showed me in
the train? Send the one nearest your size, + tell
me whether it is too large or two small, + I will
then get as near as I can. I remembered
another thing today. What would you like for
a present, my own? If you will give me some
idea what you would like, I will do my best to
get it before, but I can't guarantee, as I don't
expect to be out before Thursday midday at
the earliest. Otherwise it will, of course, have
to be later. Well now, bless your heart, I
am closing, as I want to get this off certain
& will continue a longer one to follow.
With "all uv" Your,
Stanley.
