...Message on postcard

28 Jan 1914

Dear Stanley,

I am so sorry I did not get

this p.c. sent off this morning. But I

did not remember it until I was playing

the hymn at prayer time. Please do not

think it was because of last night no

such thing now. How do you like this

card - Peace! Isn't it laddie? Has the pain

gone. How I will finish last night's convers!

Diplomatist. yes I've watched you

just say a word here + there - not too

much to give yourself away - just

sufficient to make people say "Decent

fellow." They do laddie. They have

said it to me - quite seriously. That's

their way of puting it I say "Splice

Spay." Well. If I don't make you

vain this sentimental stuff will

demoralize you.

So Adieu Laddie

Till.

7.45 p.m this evening

Very Best Love

Muriel
