My dear Muriel,

Well, how are you

keeping? All's well, I hope. I

wonder whether you receive all my

letters or not - I write every second

day as a rule. Yours come regularly

(bless you!), but I have received 2

parcels only to date. Tell Mother that

when she makes remarks about my

"proboscis" she is calling her own!

Thanks very much for words of "Maire".

Yes, they are grand, + I liked the tune,

altho' it seemed more suited for a tenor

than a baritone. What do you mean

by "I would not willingly grieve you" etc

  1. It is frustrating and offputting to spend time transcibing a text AND TO SAVE IT only to find that all or part of the transcription has not been saved. I have transcribed AND SAVED the text of this page twice now, but only the address is sowing as transcribed. Why?

    • Hi John, sorry to hear that you’re having issues saving your transcription. We’re working on finding a solution. The root of your problem may be in your browser. I just typed in the first line of the letter using Firefox and it saved successfully. I would suggest that you try the same with a recent version of either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Let me know if you have more success. You can tell if a transcription was properly saved if a green tick pops up with ‘transcription saved’.
