On 24th I got a photo from Otto
in Motveane and a letter from
A. Saying that she is waiting
for me about April to come.
I think she must wait two
more months, and perhaps
then war is over.
To-day a Latrine was going
round: we are going to Ostende
Hindenburg is going to fill
water in the former Seine
front, then he needs have
the men there to hold the
line, and we make offensive
from up there. A nice
news but if it comes
that way? Never mind! It
gives us once more hope.
And that's just what we
need.
26.3.17 Schull. Regen. Kalt.
Morning as usual. Afternoon
very busy. 2 o'clock to Hilaire
to get some things left by

evacuated civils. Returning home
I received a whole bread. I ate
half of it right away. Washed
some washing. Went out for wood.
Water cleaned my books. Toasted
bread. Made fire. Read my
book from Anna Karenina.
and wrote a letter to Ally.
Received printing paper from
Hoh + Habue . Outside it is
raining. Our chief or boss went
in Stelling this morning. I
am going to sleep alone as his
help or groom went with him.
Master of arms came back from
Ledau, he was at O. A. B. They were
all glad to hear from us. Telling
that other soldiers who had been
there, were very bad. Stole horses
and rabbits. So they kept us
as good remembrance in her
mind. As usual.

All alone nobody here but me.
