Dear Pat,

Rec. your very welcome letter and am very glad

to hear all are well at home. I have written to

Frank but rec no answer. I am very glad to hear

he is allowed to smoke because I am sure it is an

awful punishment for to have to do without it.

  I am in good health but the work is very hard

we are going from morning till night. We rise at

a quarter to six dress and make your bed down get on

parade at 6-15. We get baack for breakfast at 7-30

start on parade again at a quarter to nine for squad

drill until eleven we have an half an hours rest and

finish at twelve thirty five for dinner & start phisical

drill at two until 3-30 then we have rifil drill

until 5 and we are finished for the night except

tuesdays & thursdays we have night manovures

we do be out on that from eleven until two

so it is not all sunshine training we shall be

ready for france in about fourteen weeks and
