Saturday Sep 8 Marched from
Kemmel to Vierstraate, left
am & arrived 10-30 am pitched
camp in the evacuated area
danger zone.
Sunday Sep 9. Now attached
to the R. G. A. digging bed
for shells behind the lines
Saw shrapnel bursting over
Whytechaete Wood 1/4 of a mile
away.
Monday Sep 10 Taking 6 m shells
up to the batteries, fell in a shell
hole full of water. got a soaking
