My Dear Son
I was very pleased to receved you several
communications which undoubtedly excelled in brevity
+ lucidity if lacking
insomewhat in perspecuity+
litarystyleMight I suggest that your future communications
might be somewhat at Lengthed + also that they will
lose nothing in effect nor interest if the contained
some description of the effect which the change of environ
ment is having upon you + what impression they
have, I should also like to hear how you fared
at Leeds when I heard through Mr Hatfield that you
has o report at Leeds Technical School and that
you where in the event of passing your test bound
for Woolwich I caught the 1 Lo train with the intention
of seeing you before you left but was not successful
in Meeting you- What sort of a Test was the Leeds
test Mr Hatfield called at the School + learnt you had
left + met there a Smith (a Hammerman) who was
trying for a berth similar to you have you by any
chance met this man
I was rather surprised when I heard you had gone
to York what was the reason for this has I do not
suppose you would undergo an actual test before
you reached Woolwich was the Merely Melilay route
How did you like your journey down to London this
would prove a Quite
ainterestg event did
