any one into your confidence but continue as
though you expected to settle in your present
position + where were trying to succseed
I took about L 220/-0/0 in orders the week you left
including one for the Rota Engineering Co Class B
I had an enquiry yesterday for 200 Forgings Class A
& this morning another for Bfd Electricity Works
Class A (doors & panels) Phoenix Dynamics
but I do not know how these are to be
got through under present conditions,
Harry Squires came to me on Wednesday saying
that he had been advised by his friend on the
advisory board to volunteer has as a munition
worker I advised him to do so & if as he had
a note for Mr. Betts I told him to say that
he had informed me and I had stated that I
had no objection to this. This he did & on
his return informed me that they said he had
done the proper thing but has as I had the first
claim on him it was very improbable he
would be disturbed. I saw these people in
the afternoon & the they mentioned this matter
to me & from certain things which were said
it gave me further confidence in another
direction
I wrote Tom Greenwood on the 1st & received
a reply from him stating he would like to get
back to his old position so I am sending in an
application for him on Monday
