Wanego came along sent along as many of crew as could be spared to be leaving 42  onboard. Casualties in collision there 2 officers and 2 men.  Wanego took us in  speed about 1 and 1/2 miles per hour.  During the night half of the stern which was hanging dropped off almost capsizing us.   Aug 5 Tug Andros arrived from Malta took us in tow. We asked Wanego to estimate our speed replied nearly 2 miles per hour. Weather and sea getting bad.   Aug 6th Altered course to head sea as were nearly capsized by every sea but we  ----- ----- ----- ----  we fired all and depth charges and the ---- ---- were sent on the Forecastle----- another tug at about 2pm track of ----- ahead of us directly after two more ------ both torpedoes striking us in the engine room. and she sank inside two minutes. Casualties 4 killed in explosion  remainder of us picked up by -----  who took us to Malta arriving about 8pm.  Position Comet sank about 120 miles from Malta.  We remained in Malta until end of August then took passage to Brindisi in Swan.  The onward home arriving at Southampton 13 Oct. Gave 28 days leave.  Return to Depot 9 Nov.   Armistice signed 11 Nov.    Joined Tara about 13 Nov joined 3rd Flotilla paid off April 28th.  April 29th in Depot.  April 30th joined Whilshed.   Peace signed July 5th.   ---- with 3rd Flotilla based at Fort Edgar.   --- 12th left --- for Baltic Oct 18th to Dec 24th on patrol duties off Biocka.    ---- ---- --- .
