of Ushant at 6:30am returning to Devonport but Tipperary ordered us and Skeldrake
to Q square (Q about 50 miles wets of Ireland)
Met Transport Frankmore and escorted her to Portsmouth.
Oct 18th At sea .
Oct 19th Arrived in Portsmouth at 8:15am. Oiled left
Portsmouth 4pm. Submarine reported off Nab Rock
and sank trawler.
Oct 20th Arrived Devonport 12:30am proceeded up harbour at 7am made fast to test condensers.
Oct 23rd Slipped at 12:15pm with Hope to escort
Kinform Castle.
Oct 24th Left Kinform Castle at 12:30pm off Ushant.
Carpathia reported 2 steamers sinking 10 miles SW
of Tusau. proceeded to Q square.
Oct 25th Met Metagama at 2:30am escorted her
to Devonport arriving 3:30pm very heavy sea running.
Oct 26th Proceeded at 6:15am with Hope escorting
Qusonia Easterly gale blowing. At 2:15am obidged
to leave her on account of weather arrived Devonport
7pm.
Oct 27th Proceeded at 6:30am in company with Tipperary
and Hope to search for Mountian Grange who had
lost her propeller but with no result. At 9:30am
left Tipperary & proceeded to Q. met Transport
Egori at 5pm.
Oct 28th Arrived Devonport 6am.
Oct 30th Placed in Dockyard hands for boiler cleaning
gave leave.
Nov 5th Received news of ship going abroad

Staunch, Fury and Redpole gave leave.
Nov 8th Gave 6Q Louis leave.
Nov 11th Commander Pritchard sick onshore command taken
over by Lieut Comdr. Pridham Whipple from
Minstral.
Nov 13th Left Devonport 9pm with Staunch,
Fury and Redpole.
Nov 16th Arrived Gibraltar at 2am.
Nov 17th Left Gibraltar at 7am.
Nov 20th Arrived Malta at 8:30am. Comet & Fury
placed under orders fo Rear Admiral Hibernia.
Nov 21st Proceeded at 6am with Hibernia,

Russell & Fury. Comet & Fury acted as submarine
screen for battleships. At 4pm we formed up astern
on account of weather. Battleships left us to make the
best of weather on our own.
Nov 22nd Easterly gale & very heavy sea ship making
on average half a mile an hour . At 5pm weather worse
turned to make Malta but Fury's helm jammed
so resumed course to keep her company.
