  My dear Mu.,

  Very many thanks

  for the 2 letters + packet of papers

  which I received this morning.

  We are having a spell of very rough

  weather just at present. It has

  poured with rain for the last 48
  

  hours; yesterday afternoon there

  was a bad thunderstorm (2 flashes

  were very bad), + today there is

  a gale of wind + rain. Orderlies have

  been in nearly all day hammering

  in tent pegs etc to keep the small

  tents up. Of course we in the big

  marquees are alright. I have thought
