wonder what couples like Mr + Mrs

Spurn get married for! Isn't it

absurd, Muriel? So Frank has been

visiting the "Rookery" - the b-a-a-d

lad! And after his elder Brother's

good example as well!!--! Oh well,

I'm trying to make up for past sins

a bit now, bless you. Still I only wish

I were there now - in certain company.

I was only thinking when I read it

of certain pouring wet afternoons

spent last year in a small shelter

(giving a good view both ways!) on

the top walk; + also the annoying

old dames who would persist in

exercising their "canines" there! Do

you remember? (I guess so!) When

we are put on convoy, we get our

caps, liveries, boot etc returned (after

being stored) + of course toilet

requisites. Our kilt however is

destroyed + all our pack, rifle,

etc left behind. We get a complete

new rig-out subsequently - when

or where I do not know yet. I

think it must be because the kilt

would be so difficult to clean of

infection entirely. All these letters

are disinfected - but nevertheless

I think it safer to destroy them.

Our ward is again full up - every

bed - all dip. cases of course - in

fact half the measles ward has

had to be turned into a temporary

dip. ward. I'm going to try + get hold

of a red buckle for my cap, somewhere,

(but I've no idea where) We are entitled

to wear them when we came out here, +

many batallions (eg 6th, 7th, etc) get

issued with them. Well, lassie, once

again I will close. One day nearer

seeing you again, whether it be sooner

or later. With all my love + an "extra

special" good night à la Whitby.

Your loving husband,

Stanley

Remember me to all.
