There are 2 men in here who were
of the "1st hundred thousand," +
both unscathed so far. Of course,
were all "dip" patients in this
tent. Thank Janet for her letter.
I'm afraid the R.F.A. comissions
will be off now - you would see
what Lorhic said about his, +
his papers only wanted one signature
- his C.O.'s - to be complete! I'm
afraid - after your talks with Ma -
I'm going to be "up against it" when
I return, but "wait + see" Ah! ha!
When there's a will ---- dont you
think so? Your letters are not all
nonsense (+ don't say so) - I don't know
what I should do without them,
lassie, + that's the truth! Poor lass,
I wish I'd been there when Kitty
upset you so, but never mind - SOON
see? So there's a run on apples at
...right side of paper

Scarboro-inn - history repeats itself
(see Genesis I) Ah ha! We've had a
beautiful gramaphone on all afternoon
belonging to the Matron. It has
been grand. One song was our old
"The red of your lips is a beautiful red"
etc. Another chorus "Another little
drink, + another little drink, +
a-n-o-t-h-er little drink wouldn't
do us any harm!" We get a free
issue of cigarettes or tobacco about
every 2 days, so - with yours - I'm
going to set up a shop! But, of course,
the "State Expiers" an extra? Well,
good night + God bless you, once again
Remember me to all, including Kitty,
Dick + family. Tell Dick, I wish I
was going for a spin round Knavesmire
tomorrow morning with him! Thank
Mother for her letter. With all my
love
Your loving husband,
Stanley
