  said to me to day that married women

  didn't half know the ropes. - no wonder they

  got on with men. But I've been having a

  talk with Frank. He was talking about

  you and saying "you would never have

  done such things as he has because

  you are too quiet". I told him not to be

  so sure that he was such a nut - you

  certainly didn't talk so much but that

  wasn't to say you hadn't seen life.

  Frank said the next few items which

  gave me a start. Two nights ago he

  did not sleep at his billet at all - He

  was at a married lady's home. The

  wife of an officer - the officer a minus

  quantity. He was only told of the place

  at dinner on Friday so after the last

  course he and a friend (who had been

  before) set out for the "Paradise - like

  abode". I asked him how many gentlemen

  she accommodated for the

  evening. Then he roared and said there

  were four of them. I expect they will have

  been going the whole hog. What do you

  say. I told him not to be soft he'd want
