September  1916

My Dear Laddie,

Well - here I am again.

This morning we went to the B.P. Mr + Mrs B

and Mrs Green + myself. There was a thin

woman with an awful face, age uncertain

but tongue wagging in a very certain state

She was endeavouring to swim and could

make absolutely no progress. All the time she

was making these vain endeavours to swim

to was explaining to another woman how

it was done. Not half explaining - her mouth

was a veritable clipping machine. Her facial

expressions were works of art. Evelyn

had found her match.

 

Frank was telling about the sports

they had had at Chingford. Scores of

flash girls came up from London. One

in particular took their attention she

had an extremely short skirt and the

necessary flash boots - hat without brim

fur collar of white rabbit I should think
