Dear S.
A parcel arrived this morning
from Nunroyd! It was addressed to me
+ I opened it, two of the contents are: a
letter from Mr Webster + the shoes. The
remaining articles can stay as a surprise.
How do you like this weather? a slight
improvement? This morning I walked to
Wath - the milestones say four miles
six miles would be nearer. I set off at
10-40a.m + arrived there noon. The church
is a grand little place + the rectory is ideal
The Rev. W. J. has been most fortunate
I should think he prefers it to Archbishop's
I met him going to the station accompanied
by his daughter - the talking machine
was in active service. The walk was
glorious - wished you had been there. The
birds numbers of them Chaffinches as
tame as could be - yellowhammers having
marital trouble, + quite a number of robins
on odd branches warbled forth. I think I
have never seen so many blue tits before +
their acrobatic feats were worthy of The Black Watch
morning jerks. Had Petter from The McGregor of
the B.A.S. They are having battles royal with
Miss A. I am going to pull her up. - she has been
