Methods of Fire

The ordinary methods are "three." In all methods guns are

loaded and fired by order of Nos. 1 from the B.C

Battery Fire

     In which the guns are fired continuously in

succession from flank to flank at a named interval. Rounds

of battery are frequently used, each gun from No. 1 to 4 is

fired once, and is not reload till a fresh order is given


Section Fire

     The guns of each section are fired continuously

through the Section Commanders to the Nos. 1 (unless a certain

number of rounds is specified) at a named interval,

independently of the other section


Gun Fire or Rapid Fire

     Each gun is fired independently, usually for a

specified number of rounds at a named interval or as

rapidly as possible
