  3am orders to quit East Camp and

  take up position. Left 10am. after

  spending good 10 days rest arrived

  at position 2pm. Mine Crater

  Commenced dug-outs, Slept in dug out

  Lackton and I. Mess was

  previously built.

  
  

  July 12 Wednesday

  
  

  Aeroplane activity. 4 Bosche down

  in our lines. British descended

  intact. Pilot killed. On fatigues

  till 12-mid-night

  
  

  July 13 Thursday

  
  

  Battery all day

  3 men injured badly and 3 men killed

  of our battery. returning from shell

  fatigue, shell exploded in midst

  12 mid-night
