Rough Log Aug 4th 1914 to July 5 1919
Aug 4 On board TB10 on patrol off North Foreland with --- defence flotilla. Remained in TB10 until June 10th 1915. On morning of June 10th we left Harwich at 3am and proceeded to patrol off --?-- Lightship at 3:55 am TB12 was struck by torpedo in bows. We were told off to take her in tow and try and beach her. At 4 - 5am we were struck by torpedo amidships sinking in a few seconds. Survivors from TB10 4 officers, and 9 men. After returning from leave recovering from wounds end of July joined depot but left 24 hours afterwards to stand by HMS Marmion building at Wallsend slipway Tyne.
Sept 3rd Ship commissioned
Sept 4th Sailed for Scapa Flow to join 2nd flotilla.
Sept 5th Arrived Scapa Flow.
Sept 6th Ships company of Marmion turned over to HMS Comet Captain. Commander Pritchard.
Sept 8th Weighed at 6am proceeded to Flow for aiming rifle practice returning at 11am. Regatta for 2nd flotilla.
Sept 10th Proceeded to sea in company with Morning Star for battle practice returning at 6pm.
Sept 12th Received orders to leave for Devonport sailed at 6am.
Sept 14th Arrived Devonport at 6pm.
Sept 16th Slipped at 12:30pm proceeded to sea with Foyle in company met transport Esmeralda off --?-- escorting her to Devonport arrived 6:30pm.
Sept 18th Prepared to Dock, emptied oil tanks and got out ammunition.
Sept 21st Place under dockyard hands. Gave leave.
Oct 6th Proceeded with steam oiler and secured to buoy.
Oct 8th Proceeded in company with Redpole escorting transport --?--
Oct 9th Arrived off --?-- at 4pm left transport returned to Devonport.
Oct 10th Arrived Devonport at 11:30am.
Oct 11th At 5:30pm proceeded with transport Carmania.
Oct 12th At 2am oblidged to leave Carmania on account of weather being unable to keep up with her. Returned to Devonport.
Oct 13th Arrived Devonport 9am.
Oct 14th At 6am proceeded with Skeldrake escorting Transport Nile leaving her at 7pm.
Oct 15th Arrived Devonport 7:30am.
Oct 16th At 5:30pm proceeded with Skeldrake escorting Huntsgreen.
