so far, it is rather exciting watching the fun too,

the Allies seem to be giving Fritz something to do now. I

wish it was all over, however, we can only wait & trust

in God.  I had a letter from Bella yesterday, with one

from you to her enclosed. I tell you it is fine to get so

many letters, but it is not so easy to answer them all

now, she has been ill for a wee while, but I trust

she was able to manage the weekend with you. I

... you would all do your best to cheer her up so

that she would enjoy her visit, she was looking

forward to a long talk with you. I am pleased to

know you have been keeping better and able to get about

in your usual lively style. I hope the time is not far

distant when I'll be back. God willing, because we

don't know what dangers may be in front of us. I am

sorry to hear about W. McCourt, it was very hard luck

of his going through what he did, to be killed by a sniper.

I received a very kind and cheering letter from Blanche

last night for which I thank her, it is as she says

difficult for me to answer it. I will try to if I ever

have time, a great difficulty we all find here is envelopes

writing paper we have in plenty, but the writing pads

we buy here the envelopes are all stuck together so
