  Tanks, it was evident that they had made

  a very gallant attack, and standing there

  myself, I could picture the scene in the

  mist of that momentous morning of the

  27th September. They had done their

  work well, and enabled our infantry to

  chase the German out of his trenches.

      Well mother, i fear this story will

  sadden you once again, but I think also

  that you will be pleased too that I have

  been able to make this visit and see

  the actual place. I know I felt pleased

  and satisfied myself. Angus is spleeping

  there peacefully beside his chums. I

  will be able to answer all your questions

  when I come home, and will have many

  interesting things to tell you about the

  war in this country. I noted the numbers

  on the various tanks, & I am writing to

  Bella to ask if she knows which one

  Angus was in.  Perhaps I may go
