them (my Xmas one) and a smaller one from

mother.  So we had many fine meals last

week, also a fine "chow" at the luscious

toffee which oor Tommy kindly sends!

Between boxes, letters, and papers, I am

kept fully in touch with all my friends,

and feel much cheered by their kindnesses.

Well Chris, I must be stopping now,

for that's about all my news. Oh, about

that quotation "Uneasy lies the head that

wears a crown." I don't know the origin

myself, but Harold Southern thinks the author

of it was Shakespeare. Davie Corbett sent

me the Burns Calendar from P.T.s. It was

splendid, - picture as well as menu. I sent

it on to Peter.

Hope you are still doing nicely. I am

in A.I. form myself. Kind regards to Mth.

and love to my little sister plus many thanks

for your fine letter.  Your affectionate brother

                                                     Willie

P.S. - I enclose the program of the Panto.

Ebbie and I were at the other night in

Cambrai. It was a jolly performance.
