get your very welcome letter

of the 27th  inot:, to-day, but

I am sorry to see you have

not been getting my letters

up till the timme you writ.

It seems that you have not

yet had my last 2 or 3 letters

at least, I sent one in re-

ply to your last the same

day as I got your's, about

a week or perhaps a little

more ago. I sincerely hope

by now you have had

one or two of my precious

letters. Well Fred old chap,

you may be sure, I am

very much surprised to

hear that you have been

transferred. I had been

anxiously waiting to see
