Black and white photograph of a group of nine middle aged men, three seated on a sofa, two sitting on its arms and four standing behind. It was taken in a large room with three windows behind, they are all wearing a medal ribbon in their left lapels that look to be tri-coloured, the man in the centre of the front row is not wearing the ribbon so perhaps he was the person who had bestowed them that night.
They are probably men who served together in the Easter Uprising in Dublin, either an anniversary of 1916 or the occasion of being given medals, perhaps in 1941. The man in the centre may be
Oscar Traynor, who was a commander in the Uprising and later became Minister for Justice then Minister for Defence in the Irish Government.
William McGinley is the tall man wearing a winged collared shirt standing on the far right on the back row.
