My dearest Bridie,
At last I have the
chance to do as I have been
promising & Bridie darling
with the enclosed £4.10 I
hope you will have a happy
xmas it seems mockery to
be wishing such & Tommy
ill on your hands, but
please God when you
get this letter he will
be alright I received your
letter wondering what
was wrong with me & I
expect you must have
received my letters just
after explaining why I
was not able to write
well things are not
quite as bad now but

we are going to have a
bit of a do New Year if

being as you picture me
I am just the reverse
& am in the pink
so you have no need to

all at home are the same
