Let us Pray.
OUR Father, which art in Heaven, Hallowed by Thy Name, Thy Kingdom
come, Thy Will be done, in earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread, And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil; For Thine is the
Kingdom, The power and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.
ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, we give Thee humble thanks for the
memory and good example of Thy servants of the Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry)
who have laid down their lives in the service of our Country. We bless Thee for
their courage and devotion; accept their sacrifice, we pray Thee; let it not be in
vain that they have died in the cause of righteousness and honour. And as they
have come out of great tribulation, grant them, O Lord, that they may be pardoned
and cleansed in the blood of the Lamb, and received into Thy everlasting mercy;
through Jesus Christ our Lord, to Whom, with Thee and the Holy Ghost, be all
honour and glory, world without end. Amen.
O HEAVENLY Father, Whose blessed Son, Jesus Christ, did weep at the grave
of Lazarus, His friend, look, we beseech Thee, with compassion upon these who
are now in sorrow and affliction; comfort them, O Lord, with Thy gracious
consolations; make them to know tht all things work together for good to them
that love Thee; and grant them evermore sure trust and confidence in Thy
fatherly care; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
HYMN (Part I).
f FOR all the Saints, who from their labours rest,
Who Thee by faith before the world confess'd,
They Name, O Jesu, be fore ever bless'd.
Alleluia!
Thou wast their Rock, their Fortress, and their Might;
Thou, LORD, their Captain in the well-fought fight;
Thou in the darkness drear their one true Light.
Alleluia!
O may Thy soldiers, faithful, true, and bold,
Fight as the Saints who nobly fought of old,
And win, with them, the victor's crown of gold.
Alleluia!
UNVEILING CEREMONY.
DEDICATION.
"To the Glory of God and in grateful memory of the Offices, Warrant
Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Men of the Machine Gun
Corps (Cavalry) who gave their lives for King and Country, and in a
righteous cause, I dedicate this Memorial. May all who look upon it
realise the peace of sins forgiven, the joy of faithful service, and the
power of the endless life, to which may God wouchsafe to bring all;
though Jesus Christ our Lord." Amen
