so the greatest triumph of the
twentieth century will be the
elimination of war.
In this war against war,
in which the world is now en-
gaged the most advantageous
battle-field is the public school
the privates in the ranks are
the teachers in the school-rooms
the captains the principals
and superintendents. I have
known some sluggish
souls, not to say lazy, in
the teaching ranks who
resent the demands made
upon the public schools
