Dear Heaton
Just a line Wishing you a Happy New
Year + in the hope that the end of 1916 may
see a glorious peace.
I expect that you will have heard that
our Member J.C.W. Johnson died on the 31st
+ that the funeral takes place on Jan 4th
at 11 AM.
I think the Yorkshire Social Circle
should send a wreath + also be represented at
the funeral. Can you arrange for a wreath
in time + might I suggest that you and
the President represents the Circle if at all
possible.
Do not think I am interfering in this matter
I expect when I see you to hear that you
+ Mr Mason had already taken the necessary
steps + if so this will have done no harm
+ if otherwise will serve has as a reminder
Best wishes to Mrs Haley
Yours Truly
