Three year voyage of the “S.S. Orbita” June 1915 to October 1918

 

Richard Lawlor continued his seafaring career after the First world

War and while on a voyage between Montreal and Hamburg in the

1940’s he died from injuries received in an accident on board ship

and was buried at sea. Richard was married to Annie Rossitter of

Kilmore and they had two sons, Jim and Jack and one daughter

Bridie. His sister Mary Lawlor was married to John Doyle,

Drimmagh, Tagoat, who also sailed on the “Orbita”.
