Spring, this year, is much more than a renascence of nature; it is a rebirth of old habits, of the delightful gaiety, and of that grace of living for which France was famed before the war. Nowhere is the new Spring so noticeable as in the shops, now well stocked, in Nevers, and in the constant flow of products to establishments only a few months ago on the precarious edge of extinction. With the lifting of the war dread and the approach of peace, many changes have taken place. In attire, in the merchandise of luxury that is appearing, and in the growing abundance of food and delicacies, these changes are very apparent to those who remember the ominous calm and dismay of last July.
