My Dear Son
I find on looking through my letter Book that my last letter
was dated Nov 25th instead of Oct 25th which seems quite a
long time ago. I had fully intended writing you last Sunday only
just as I was about to start Mrs Bradley called + her news was
sufficient to upset me to such an extent as to make letter writing
impossible. Your letter to Alice came to hand this morning +
contained about as much new as usual + that is none at all.
I am not certain whether you are incapable of writing a letter or too
lazy but in any case the letter are almost a disgrace to you.
I hope now that the Armistice is signed the censorship may
be sufficiently relaxed to enable you to write about your surroundings
which may help you.

last week asking for your return but received a reply stating
it was impossible to release Serving solders at the present
time. I also made a similar through the labor exchange but
fully expect this to be turned down. I have registered you
at the Labour Exchange on form E D not as having a situation
to come back to + you should in due course receive from your
...C.O.a form for yourself to fill up stating whether you have a
situation open for you or not. Fill this up accordingly +let me know
when you receive it + anything further bearing on this matter
there is another advance of 5/- per week to be paid on the
7th of dec to workers in the Engraving trade which thy don't
deserve + which I think will be the last advance as I am
quite certain that the home trade will not be able to
absorb all the men who will shortly disconnect from the
